A wave of light is an innovative lighting system for a stretch of the cycle path in Piana Rotaliana, Trento. The goal was to enlighten the path independently from the traditional electrical system, reducing the lighting costs of the infrastructure. To achieve this, a photoluminescent paint applied to a wooden support was used, which makes it possible to mark the road at night by releasing the absorbed light during the day.
Second key point of the project is its communicative potential: the paint is combined with graphics that can host promotional messages relating to local tourist attractions, thus becoming a powerful territorial branding tool.
The potential therefore opens up to collaborations with third-party organizations, with partnerships that may include the promotion of local brands on this innovative tourism advertising system.
